Molecular Vibrations (with subtitles) | Fundamental vibrations | IR Spec...

Molecules are always in a state of vibration. The bonds within the molecules vibrate causing a change in either the bond length or the bond angle. The former type is known as the stretching vibration, while the later is called the bending vibrations.
Taking analogy of a ball and spring model, one can imaging that stretching requires more energy as compared to bending.
This video is about the fundamental vibrations observed in molecules and their effects and manifestations.
